Discussion of Newton Public Schools

Strategic Planning Initiative

System Wide Goals and Core Values

 

In the Spring of 2008 the Superintendent, in partnership with the School Committee, launched a strategic planning initiative to examine and plan the future direction of education in Newton Public Schools. The School Committee voted on October 14, 2008 to approve the new mission statement and core values: excellence, innovation, respect and responsibility.  The School Committee also voted on two-year System Wide Goals for the Newton Public Schools.


Gina Healy will be discussing some of these new ideas and how they might impact the curriculum at Day Middle School.
