Dear F.A. Day Families,

 

Day Middle School has a lot to offer its students - great teachers, sports teams, music, drama, art, etc. - all led by Jackie Mann, our energetic new principal. To top it off, Day families have always been supportive of and sensitive to the school's needs, and willing to rise to the occasion.

 

Over the years the Day PTO has funded both essential and "nice to have" items for the school. Parent donations have funded items like computers, roller skates, fitness equipment, books for the library, and Creative Arts and Science programs. We have funded special requests items for teachers, the ice cream social for incoming sixth grade students, and so many other things to help make our children's experience at Day just a little bit better.

 

Some ideas the school has for the money raised through this year's drive include funding for the following:

 

• Assemblies and Programs aimed at helping students continue their social and emotional growth, through programs such as Teen Speakout and Urban Improv.

 

• Water-Bottle Fillers on all floors of the school

 

• Increased Field Trip Support   

 

• Technology Purchases to help bring us closer to our goal of ensuring that all classrooms and teachers at Day have what they need to create a positive and effective learning environment for our children.
